Melissa Cavazos, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Melissa is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 9 years of diverse healthcare experience. She is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care, with a focus on prevention, education, and whole-person wellness.
Melissa earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of the Incarnate Word and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Medical Branch. She is nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and serves as an adjunct faculty member in the BSN program at the University of the Incarnate Word.
Passionate about empowering patients through education, Melissa incorporates both traditional and functional medicine approaches into her practice. She has a special interest in preventive care and hormone replacement therapy, helping patients achieve optimal health at every stage of life.

After earning her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington, Cara transitioned from her role as a Registered Nurse into advanced practice, driven by a passion for discovering the root causes of illness and empowering patients to reclaim their health. Wylendra is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of progressive nursing experience across acute care, primary care, dialysis, home infusion, and post-acute geriatric settings. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice at Capella University and earned her MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Western Governors University in 2024. She holds a BSN from the University of Texas at Arlington and began her nursing career with an ADN from Mississippi Delta Community College.
Wylendra's clinical experience is diverse, including intensive care, medical-surgical nursing, urgent care, primary care, home health, dialysis, and post-acute geriatric care. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, she provides comprehensive, patient-centered care across the lifespan, managing acute and chronic conditions, conducting thorough assessments, and emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education. Her post-acute geriatric work includes stabilizing newly admitted patients, performing evaluations, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
Before advanced practice, Wylendra built a strong foundation as a registered nurse in cardiac ICU, kidney transplant postoperative care, and medical-surgical nursing. She has extensive dialysis experience in outpatient hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and home dialysis, including roles in staff, travel, float, and leadership positions. Her dialysis expertise spans anemia management, vascular access care, patient education, infection control, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
